Every website has some kind of content, but not all sites realize that they’re doing content marketing when they do it – and this is one of the ways in which LeadVy can help. Although it may seem glaringly simple, content market actually seeks to solve a more complicated issue in marketing – that of the death of ‘push advertising’.

‘Push advertising’ refers to the process by which advertising used to work – you’d be watching TV or listening to the radio and suddenly your program would be interrupted with an advertisement for a product or service. Really irritating, right? Exactly.

Unsurprisingly, this kind of marketing has stopped being as successful as it was when media was more of a novelty than something that people were berated with at all hours of their lives. The whole idea of push marketing hinged on the theory that a demographic could be targeted at the exact time and place that they’d be interested in buying a product. Well, instead of going to the customer with an advertising strategy that interrupts the activities of their day-to-day life, content marketing involves the creation of interesting and relevant content which entices customers who interact with it to learn more about the product or services mentioned.

What really sets content marketing from its predecessors is the role that communications takes in it. Instead just straight up pitching your product to the demographic, content marketing provides the opportunity to connect with your target demographic by providing them wi5th useful information on an issue that they are concerned with, which is a far more sustainable approach to marketing.
