Mobile Internet Access Across the MENA Region
With 19 states and over 370 million people, the MENA region, it’s hard to know where to start with regards to monitoring the growth of mobile data. In this post, we’re going to look at the growth of the use of mobile phones as internet devices across the region.
Over the past few years, mobile use has increased dramatically. Mobile technology, and mobile data, are two of the region’s fastest growing markets. In fact, the MENA region’s mobile market is one of the fastest growing globally. It is predicted that by 2020, over 60% of the population of the region will be subscribed to a mobile service. And mobile internet usage is on the steady rise. An estimated 94% of MENA residents will use mobile data at least once a month.
One of the reasons for this increased use of mobile data is that smartphones proceed an affordable and simple way to access the internet, as well as being easily portable. Another reason for the increase is that many mobile networks are putting a lot of time, effort and money into developing robust 4G networks across the region that will support this traffic.
Looking at all of the evidence, it’s understandable why now it’s essential to make sure that your website is responsive to users who are browsing on their phones. Being up-to-date is half the battle to success.
